Splott Growing Your Street! / Sblot Tyfu eich Stryd!

                                                    If you want to help transform your street, this workshop is a must!

We’re inviting you to spend the morning with your neighbours exploring how you can green your front gardens and street frontages to help make your street a greener, cleaner and friendlier place to live.

After registration and a brief chat about Growing Street Talk there will be a short review of our first year. This will be followed by an inspirational presentation to spark ideas about the sorts of changes you could make to your front garden or street frontage and how potentially amazing your street could look!

You’ll spend time talking through ideas with your neighbours and coming up with a vision for your street.The final part of the workshop will be to agree activities and events that will give you and your neighbours the skills to transform your street in 2020.

                                                              And then there’s our fantastic raffle!

You’ll have the chance to take part in our raffle* to win a garden makeover! There will be two prizes – one for a front garden and one for a street frontage.
Winners will be announced on the day.

Plus everyone will go home with a free daffodil bulb to welcome the spring in 2020.

* the raffle is only open to people who have attended our workshops and for households living in the Splott, Pengam Green and Tremorfa ward.

Children  are  welcome  but  must  be  accompanied  by  a  responsible  adult.  Children don't  need  to  be  booked  in  but  we  need  to  know  numbers,  so  please  email  us with  how  many  children  you  are  bringing.  We  are  limiting  tickets  to  two  adults per  household  with  ticket  prices  based  on  the  ‘pay  what  you  can  afford’  principle -  £2,  £5  or  £10.  All proceeds go to our community chest to support the project.  Any issues with paying – please call us on 07707 879 546.

Growing Street Talk is an exciting new project for people living in the Splott & Grangetown wards. The project delivers practical gardening workshops bringing residents together to improve their front gardens & make the streets greener, cleaner & friendlier. Growing Street Talk is run by UpFront Gardens CIC, supported by our community partners Keep Splott Tidy and Pentre Gardening Club and the National Lottery Community Fund.
